Here’s the cover of the album. I do not own it and I think that eventually Peter Pan records produced records with just one or two songs on them because I do not remember all of the songs listed on this one.

Back about 50 years ago there were 2 songs that were quite funny but I have not been able to find them again. The lyrics were as follows:
1. Two popcorn kernels in a red hot pan
one turned to the other and said “hey Man’
I’m too pooped to pop, just lay’in here frying
the salt and butter’s ready and the fire’s hot
but it seems like I’m just too pooped to pop!

2: Charlie was a boxer brave as he could be
Til one day they started boxing on TV

The words I remember for the second part were –
My arm goes up when I turn to the right, it goes straight down when I stop.
It goes straight out when I turn to the left, exactly like my pop when he was my age.

The first time through that chorus, the words were this –
Exactly like my pop when he’s driving.

I too had an album with the Amsterdam wooden shoe song onit. The album was American and was centered around The Little Red School House. “In the little red school house down the lane…”. I loved all the songs on it as a child in the 1970′s and would love to hear the recordings again.

I remember that record well. It was a LP large record called “Oozy’s Kidsongs”
made in the 1970′s. The songs on that record are as follows,. They were all sung by a woman, who has a soothing voice as any kid would remember in the 1970′s.
I think her name may have been Ozzy Harriet.

I’ve tried to search for this, but with no luck. This was a great record, and they don’t make songs like this anymore.

Where is Thumpkin? This is sung to the tune of Brother John. It helps with hand and eye coordination. It involves the child putting both hands behind their back and one by one each hand greets the other by singing the song and bringing each had to the front while wiggling the appropriate finger on one hand as it “greets” the same finger on the other hand. At the end of each greeting one hand and then the other is returned to the child’s back.

“Where is Thumpkin? Where is Thumpkin ?” (thumbs)
“Here I am”" (bring one hand to the front with the thumb up)
“Here I am” (bring the other hand to the front, thumb up)
“How are you today sir?” (wiggles like nodding to the other thumb)
“Very well I thank you? (the responding thumb wiggles}
“He runs away” (fist hand returns to the back)
“He runs away” (second hand returns to the back)

The ditty continues with each finger repeating the action of back to front, then the wiggle, then returns to the back.

“Where is Pointer, where is Pointer?”
“Here I am, here I am”
“How are you today sir, very well I thank you”
“He runs away, he runs away.”

“Where is Tall Man, where is Tall Man?”
“Here I am, here I am”
“How are you today sir, very well I thank you”
“He runs away, he runs away.”

“Where is Crooked Man, where is Crooked Man?”
“Here I am, here I am”
“How are you today sir, very well I thank you”
“He runs away, he runs away.”

“Where is Short Man, where is Short Man?”

Then the ditty stops and the children jump and clap and simply let go of energy.

I don’t know the name but I remember this from hte lyrics:
